Well, would you say that is a sadly sized picture? I sure would. i was expecting it to be a lot bigger than that. Oh well.
So i was at work a little while ago and in walks this grown lady carrying a stuffed bear (winnie the pooh hence the picture). We thought nothing of it because we figured a child would soon follow. None did. 5 mins passed, ten minutes passed and still no kid. And so the talks began about the programs we offer for ESL( English as a second language). Interestingly enough, more than 40 minutes of the time she was with us did she talk TO WINNIE about everything. " oh thats sounds early doesnt it winnie?" " Ya i dont think i will be able to get out of bed that early" " Oh wow, that is expensive huh Winnie?"
By the time the conversation was over with this lady (and with Pooh), we were all wondering " ok, where is the camera?" There were none.
Ever since this happened i have heard more and more people tell me that they know of someone like that. It seems there is some sort of... social ...oddity? with people and talking with their stuffed bears.
She never did come back to register for our program and it was likely a good thing because if Pooh really spoke to her he would likely have to take our English intensive courses too, and it would be even more expensive. I wonder though, if i really thought my invisible friends were alive (see prior blog) than am i much different from her? I mean, i dont talk to them anymore. They are gone and i was always careful to keep them to myself, not bring them to appointments... Maybe i am socially odd...???
